Still to bright for me. I load my pics to the computer as raw and then I work with them a Tiff's till the end and then say as a jpeg. what HDR program are u using? I think photomax sucks and I use Dynamic Photo HDR. I merge all the photo's in the HDR and tone map and knock the color down to 50%, then I take them and process them to my liking in Lightroom 2.
end me your email address and I can send u a WinRaw file of the HDR program I use.

You are most definitely correct. Its easier to work with and the results are much better. Plus it lets You work with RAW images also. From now on, I think I'm going to shoot in RAW + L setting and HDR the ones that look the best.
Thanks everyone!
P.S.
If anyone wants Dynamic Photo HDR, just send me a PM and I will hook ya up with it.

Ok, figured out my problem. I was never one to install any software that came with anything I bought for my computers, but this has to be an exception. I did some googling and found out to use the Cannon software to convert it from RAW to TIFF. Then load it into Dynamic Photo HDR to make the final adjustments. Here are the results with the same RAW image.
