WITHIN THE LAST 2 WEEKS OR SO, THE FRONT PORCH OF THIS BUILDING (next to the building with the pillars) TOTALLY COLLAPSED...

Nor but in sleep findeth a cure for care.
Incertainty that once gave scope to dream
Of laughing enterprise and glory untold,
Is now a blackness that no stars redeem.

Thanks for the pic Riada,

Almostgone had a similar picture of the porch.

The inside of that building is as bad as it looks on the outside.

Here is looking down from the 3rd floor to the basement. Look at the doors on the left with nothing but air under them.

Here is the pile of what fell from above.

Wow! Thats amazing! That porch roof was hanging by a thread for quite awhile, driving by this past week I noticed that it had finally come completely down! Does anyone know how old the building was, and how long it stood vacant and what was it used for? Your pics were awesome, MisterPat!!

I will look through Your book AG and see if it says what that building was used for.

In 1990 or so I worked for essex county, we put new floors in the building with the pillars. I'm pretty sure that building and the building with the collapsed porch were office buildings at that time.

That was the female employees home. i dont know any other info, except i see that every time i go up there. i always want to go, but y friend is afraid because the tunnels are blocked by the floors that fell through

I think that my aunt may have lived in that building.

Last time I was there (last summer) we were able to get to the tunnels, even though it was a tight squeeze. It's the most discreet was of getting to the main complex, and I sincerely hope it is not completely blocked. From the looks of Misterpats photos though, it looks like it may be.

well no now there is a hole through it thankfully, but i don't know how long its going to last. it was real messed up last time i was in there, part of the floor collapsed under me. thankfully i had 1 foot on the staircase and the other one on the floor. here are some more pics of the inside. Honestly i would never go back in its extremely dangerous and there is really nothing to see.

Nice pics! I also been in there once and have to agree. Its in really bad shape and nothing of real interest to see. Not worth the risk.
