Trout fishing: depending on the day meal worms or rainbow power nuggets (i swear on my life with that stuff its the best), and if that dont work nightcrawlers.
Other: Blue fox 13 silver spinners. $4 a piece....dont snag it or youll be kicking your ass forever....

But to stay on topic - I find it's not the lure/bait you use it's all in how you do the "Fishey Dance"!! Seriously, I have perfected the fishey dance and I catch fish all the time! Went out ice fishing one time and only 3 fish were caught - of those 3 2 of them were caught by me and they were big jack fish (or walleye depending on where you're from)
