The '70's live inside the four doors of Al's white
Cadillac.
For $100 an hour, late-night club crawlers can
spread across its red leather seats, roll up its tinted
windows and share a fat joint with the driver - Al,
the affable cannabis chauffeur.
"I don't know about you guys, but I love Led
Zeppelin," Al said as a Daily News reporter and three
friends climbed inside the disco-themed limo.
Al's dope limo service is a semisecret in the
Manhattan after-hours party scene. To arrange a
tour, you call Al on his cell phone and book a ride.
"I've been doing this a long time: 11 years," he said.
"I take you where you need to go in the city in an
enjoyable atmosphere."
The reporter - who did not smoke weed - watched
as Al lit and passed a marijuana blunt while driving
up Eighth Ave. towards Times Square on Thursday
night.
The News is withholding Al's last name since his
extra-special service isn't exactly legal.
Al picked up the party crew at a West Village bar in
the white limo with racing stripes on the side and
neon purple undercarriage lights.
The inside was decked out in Studio-54-meets-
New-Orleans-brothel: red velvet ceilings and floors,
peace sign stickers, a dangling disco ball and
leopard-print pillows.
"I was impressed. I thought it looked pretty sweet,"
said one passenger who accompanied The News
reporter and smoked marijuana. "It definitely lived
up to its reputation as the pot limo."
People on the streets of Times Square gawked and
took pictures of Al's ride. Through the tinted
windows they couldn't see him light a second joint
and take a hit before passing it back to the
passengers.
"The guy was super nice and friendly," said another
passenger with The News. "He gave us what we
wanted."
While his passengers munched on complimentary
Cheetos and candy, Al drove to another West Village
bar, circling the block a couple of times so the
partiers could finish their beverages.
"I've been through Times Square stoned before,"
said a rider after the hour-long trip. "But that was
the best way."
The day after taking a magic limo ride, The News
called Al to ask if he's worried about being caught.
Al immediately denied supplying and smoking
marijuana.
"I got to be honest, I don't know what you're talking
about," he said.
"It's about a ride from destination to destination. If
you guys did more than what was legal, that was up
to you guys, not me."

I actually saw this vehicle parked in NYC a few months ago while I was heading to a concert.
