MOUNT OLIVE -- A Hackettstown man was arrested early this morning in Mount Olive for driving while intoxicated after he crashed into a police car that was stopped at a red light.
Officer Thomas Cuff was waiting for the light to change when a 2006 Acura struck the back of his patrol car, according to Mount Olive officer Carl Mase.
Cuff exited and spoke to Sunil Samaroo, 27, who failed field sobriety tests, police said.
Samaroo was charged with DWI, reckless driving and careless driving. He was released to a sober driver pending a court hearing.
Neither driver was injured but both cars had to be towed from the scene.
