Coppermine Trail

Heading out now to try and find the copper mines. Hopefully I can gather up enough info to plan a better trip with everyone.

Well, The Boss and I headed out there today. We hiked up the Copper Mine Trail two miles. Didn't see any mines. It was an awesome hike. Lots of ravines and small waterfalls.

It turns out that one of the mines was right at the trail head. About 100 yards from an old processing plant. I have pictures of the old processing plant. But only the foundation still stands

We did find a small cavern that went in about 15 feet. I may go back tomorrow with my cousin to check out the one mine.

There are a bunch of old abandoned houses in this area of the park. Most river front.

Went back today. The mine isn't that deep. Maybe 250 feet or so. Its cool, but not as big as I hoped.

Mine is now locked up.

Make sure you check out and sign up on abandonedmines.net They have trips and PLENTY of information about where to find mines.

Also, you can slide under the locked gate, but you'll get dirty.

There are other mine entrances right near there, but I haven't had the time to go back.
