Went back today. Had a blast. Kinda picture/history heavy.
1. This craftsman style bungalow is in terrible condition, in front....
2. ...But around back it looks fine
3.The Old Hewitt Church
4.
5.the Laird- West house got a new roof. Whats funny about most of the structures here is that the plywood is painted to look like Regular windows and doors.
6. The back still looks shitty though.
7.A shot of the Writenour House (Far Left) And the Harty Milligan House (Far right). The Harry Milligan House was a 2 story workers house built around 1860. the Writenour House Was built in 1810.
8.Ye Olde Country Store- The iron workers bought stuff here under a credit system; They would get the value of the purchased items deducted from their pay.
9. A workers house nestled away in the woods, slowly being strangled by the foliage around it.
10. These next few are from inside the previous workers house.
11.
12.
13.
14.
15. The Mine' managers house was right on site, built c. 1860
16. The shell of a car was rusting away.
17. two more of the Managers house
18.
19. Olde Company Store
20. The longhouse, at one time a dorm building for male workers
21. The oldest house in the village, the Stone Double House, dates back to the 1760's.
22. Notice:
23. A closer look at the Writenour house.
24. The Laird- West house once again.
25. Inside the Laird West house.
26. The pink Stites house.
27. And finally, the rear of the the building the church added sometime after it's origional creation.
